Thanks for visiting Triangle Fraternity's website! As engineers, we all fall victim to the do-it-yourself curse, and this website was no exception. Frustrated with our old shoddy web site, I designed the new layout myself (wipe your feet and excuse the bugs) and spent over two years building the underlying architecture and authentication mechanism. If you have question or comments please feel free to contact me — Garrett Brown at president@tranglebruins.com.

FBConnect logo.png Our website proudly features FBConnect, software I wrote to allow selected people to edit these pages. When you click the edit button at the bottom of every page, it asks Facebook whether you are a member of a secret Facebook group and only then can you modify the page. You can even see how it works, as I copyrighted and published the software under an open source license. It has since been adopted by several websites across the web, most notably the Wikia network (including Harry Potter wiki and Lost Wikia).
MediaWiki Logo.png Our website is powered by MediaWiki, the same software that runs Wikipedia. Although it was never designed to be used as a content management system, I was able to whip it into such a form. It now powers the back-end CMS for our website and serves as Triangle's premier underground database.
CakePHP logo.png This website is also powered by CakePHP, the open source framework for rapid application development. It was a pain to learn, but I am now grateful for its effective presentation of pages from the MediaWiki back-end.

Triangle Fraternity is a fraternity specifically for engineers, architects and scientists. We are the official South Campus fraternity at UCLA. For more information, please see our info page.
